Outside Recommendations:

I am now accepting outside recommendations for both archives and fanfiction.

What I am looking for is largely quantity over quality. All outside recommendations of both fanfiction and archives will be reviewed by me before it's housed on this site.

Rules for archive recommendations:

01. All recommended sites should be hosted on it's own doman and not free-hosting domains. It should also be free of all pop-up advertising.

02. Archives hosted on journal sites such as Livejournal are acceptable, however the archive must be clearly organized with either tags or the memory feature so that people can easily access the fanfiction.

03. In general, the archive should not be a general fandom archive (i.e. focusing on the entire fandom) unless the fandom is smaller in nature and/or a more obsecure fandom.

04. The archive must be in English, I am not going to rec something or allow a rec on this site of something that is not in a language that I can read or write.

05. You can submit an archive that you run or host, however if I do not think that it meets the requirements of this site, I will not link it here. If you do submit an archive that you run, I would appreciate a link back to this site.

06. All archives hosted here must offer quality fanfiction, this means that the majority of the fanfiction hosted on the site must follow the basic rules of grammar and spelling. E-fiction archives should have moderators that do check the fanfiction for quality, other archives must also have basic rules for submission that are followed.

Rules for fanfiction recommendations:

01. All fanfction recommended by this site must be written by someone other than the person recommending the fanction. Please do not recommend your own fanfiction as this defeats the purpose of this site. I don't care if it is the best fic ever written and if it's won multiple awards, self-promotion is not the purpose of this site.

02. All fanfiction must be in English and it should not be full of grammatical and/or spelling errors. I understand that authors make mistakes and I am sure that there's a few fics already recommended on this site that have errors. That said a fic that's full of errors is not enjoyable.

03. All fics must be a minimum of 100 words in length, anything over 100 words is accepted. All fics should be prose in style, no poems or songs allowed.

04. All fics should have a disclaimer stating that the author is not the owner of the base material.

05. If the author requests that you have their permission to recommend their fiction on a site such like this, please do not recommend their fiction to this site. It's not fair to the author or to myself to deal with a third-party.

06. All recommended fics should be on an open archive/community/etc. Recommending fics that are archived in a place that requires a person to join is not fair to the reader.

07. I prefer completed fanfiction since it can be rather annoying if you come across an uncompleted fic where the author has no intention of ever finishing it. That said if you think the uncompleted/WIP fic that you're recommending to the site deserves to be here, please tell me why.

General rules/suggestions:

01. The best way to get an archive or fic recommended here is if it's something from a fandom that I am familar with. I am very familar with the following fandoms: the Buffyverse, the CSI-verse, Anita Blake, Harry Potter, Labyrinth, LJ Smith, NCIS, Supernatural, and the X-men movieverse. I am somewhat familar with the following fandoms: Dark Angel, The X-Files, Veronica Mars and Firefly. That said, you can always try to suggest a fic or archive, if I am completely clueless with the fandom I will let you know.

02. Do not recommend archives or fanfiction that are for fandoms where the author/creator has expressly forbidden their works being turned into fanfiction. I will not include anything of the sort, no matter the quality of the archive and/or fanfiction.

03. The best rule of thumb for suggesting a recommendation for this site is this: if it's something that you would recommend on your own livejournal, site, etc, then forward it to me. I accept all genres, ratings, pairings, slash, femslash, het, etc over multiple fandoms.
